Efflorescence & Natural Chemical Build
As water penetrates and migrates through the concrete it picks up the excess calcium and other deposits and moves them to the surface. As the deposits build up on the surface it can be seen as efflorescence. It the water evaporates and turns to a vapor before it reaches the surface, it then deposits the calcium and other salts on the interior near the surface. This build up can put pressure on the concrete and causes deterioration and spalling of the concrete.
If we can stop the migration of the water through the concrete then the deposit build up can be reduced or eliminated. Kryton Krystol® stops this migration by plugging the pores of the concrete that allow the migration. The distinct advantage that Kryton Krystol® can bring is that it can be done from which ever surface is convenient to access as opposed to the positive side only.
