Rusting & Corrosion

As rebar in concrete oxidizes it grows larger in diameter putting pressure on the surrounding concrete eventually causing it to fracture and fail.  No amount of repairs or strengthening will succeed until the cycle of expansion is stopped.  By wrapping the concrete or sealing it in to stop water intrusion, the humidity trapped inside is left to continue chloride ion migration and thus continued expansion of the rebar.

By applying Kryton Krystol® to the surface, the growth of the Krystol® throughout the concrete matrix uses up any natural humidity in the concrete matrix before sealing out exterior moisture.  The concrete can now be repaired or strengthened.
